As the largest city in Northwest, Queensland, Mount Isa Domestic Airport sees approximately 15,000 travellers a month. Known for its mining history, Mount Isa has blossomed into a significant cosmopolitan area with steady passenger increases since 2017. UFL was engaged by Mount Isa Airport in North-west, Queensland to update and refresh the main domestic terminal seating area. Since its last terminal upgrade in 2010, the main waiting area was in drastic need of power connections points, considering over 80% of the passenger mix are part of the ‘fly in, fly out’ market. UFL replaced over 100 seats with a combination of 3-, 4- and 5-seater Alpha beams with intermediate arms and finished in silver powder coat. Included with the beam seat system is a convenient side table, fixed into place with metal bracket supports. Many seating units are powered with 3-pin plug connections and couplings and thermal overload systems, meant ideally for charging laptops, tablets and/or mobile phones.
