Gold Coast Airport’s much-awaited $100 million low cost carrier terminal redevelopment is in the final stages of completion with new check-in counters and state-of-the-art baggage system.
The much-anticipated common user terminal is providing greater ease of access for passengers travelling through the airport with new user check in counters, seating and public guidance system supplied and installed by UFL Airports Australia Pty.
UFL Group has been involved in the redevelopment, with the design, supply and installation of 36 Check in Counters, 16 Gate Counters, Passenger Waiting area Seating and Public Guidance Tape Barriers.
Gold Coast Airport chief operating officer, Paul Donovan, said the new system would help ensure quick turnaround for airlines and passengers.
“Redeveloping our terminal has given us the opportunity to expand our baggage system and really invest in state-of-the-art, robust technology. We are investing more than $10 million into this baggage system to help increase our efficiency.”
“The common user check in counters together with the common security screening that opened a few months ago will really help passenger facilitation through the airport. We are really seeing some significant milestones in the development,” Mr Donovan said.
